I’m sitting in my office finishing up a few things before I head over to my sister’s house for New Year’s Eve and I was inspired to write a 2022 recap. Honestly, more for myself to remember all of the leaps & bounds I made in my business this year.
2022 was a great year at Stacey Lyn Boutique Photography – not only for my business, but for me personally. Here’s a quick 2022 recap of some milestones:
I began working with Renee Bowen. Finally – after years of searching to find a business coach/mentor that I clicked with, I found Renee! Renee has helped me make leaps & bounds in my business in the past year that I could only have dreamed of prior to working with her. Renee’s insight, her ability to guide me towards making my business vision come to life, and having her to bounce ideas off of have been invaluable. Additionally, Renee has also helped me to grow as a person – discovering truths about myself, conquering fears, working on mindset, and gaining clarity (& being able to put into words) why I love what I do. I am looking forward to continuing to work with her in 2023 and beyond!
Completely rebranded – new logo, new color palette, new website. As I got further into my journey with Stacey Lyn Boutique Photography I began to feel as if my original branding didn’t match my bold, vibrant photography style. I also felt that it didn’t match my clients’ personalities. It was time for a change! I love the new and improved SLBP!!
To go along with my new branding, I also completely revamped my product offerings & pricing to add value for my clients. I also wanted to have sample products for my clients so that they could feel & see the quality & beauty in the products that I offer. I LOVE my products & stand behind them 100%. They are completely handcrafted, archival, and are products that I would display in my own home! And, they come with a 100% – no questions asked – lifetime guarantee. They really must be seen in person – they are stunning & I guarantee you will fall in love with them!
I added professional hair & makeup to my high school senior sessions! I have been wanting to include hair & makeup for a long time and am so glad that I finally added it this year. Working with JL Makeup Studio has been an amazing partnership! My seniors LOVE the special treatment, and getting hair & makeup professionally done provides a confidence boost before their session. I also personally love using that time to chat with my seniors to get to know them a little bit more. Building that relationship helps my seniors to relax during their session and let their unique personalities shine through!
The introduction of my Senior Influencer Team program – a brand new, completely updated team for Gen Z! This is the first program of its kind in the Pittsburgh area! I am so passionate about helping area teens navigate social media in an effective, but safe way. My passion is creating high-end portrait experiences for high school seniors that uplift and encourage them to be unapologetically authentic and show up as the person that they were meant to be in this world. That “why” is built into everything that I create for my business and the influencer team model is an extension of that purpose!
Social media continues to grow and be used by brands to market their products and services. I have used social media myself to grow my brand and create brand awareness. I also continue to research the best, most effective ways to do this! Bringing that knowledge to area teens & helping them to secure brand deals – if that is something that they desire to do – is a passion of mine! Part of what I do with my TEAM is offer collab opportunities with local/national brands. This not only provides killer photos for teens to share on social year round, but also possibilities of acquiring actual brand deals. In addition, we have fun get togethers, giving back days, and a ton more! All teens are welcome to participate (we don’t “select” based on any particular criteria).
Enrollment for our Class of 2024 Senior Influencer Team is launching in January 2023. If you are interested & want to get more details, you can sign up for more info here. I’m starting to put together more offers for area tweens too, so be on the lookout for those!
Whew! There you have it, my 2022 recap. That was A LOT! I am so so excited to see the growth in both my business and myself over the past year! I have so many more plans for SLBP & cannot wait to bring them to life in 2023 & beyond!!
Oh! Here’s a recap of some personal milestones too;) I started going to the gym regularly. It helped that a gym literally opened on the street beside ours (OK, Universe, I hear you loud & clear!). I now do cardio and resistance training regularly (who would have thought?!). I also have plans to get in shape enough to do a spin class by the end of 2023. I’m continuing on my path of spiritual wellness too – meditation has become a must-do to keep my anxiety & perfectionism in check. And, lastly, Jason & I finally made some minor home improvements to our home.
I’ll post some goals for 2023 – personal & professional – in the coming weeks. I don’t like to call them “resolutions”. Why? Because, to me, resolutions feel like things we have to do just because it’s January 1st. I prefer to create goals year-round when I want to. Not just because the calendar tells me that I need to;) How do you feel about resolutions? Do you make them? Let me know in the comments!
Wishing everyone a blessed 2023 full of health, happiness, & fun!
